  • The population of Davis County is 249,224.
  • In the last 30 years Davis County has grown by 141.3%.
  • Davis County is home to Lagoon, the biggest amusement park in the Intermountain West. Here you can visit amusement park attractions as well as Pioneer Village and LagoonABeach.
  • Antelope Island, the biggest island in the Great Salt Lake, is located in Davis County. It offers wildlife, miles of trails, breathtaking views, and a great restaurant.
  • Davis County is home to one of the most important bird places in North America. Antelope Island, Howard Slough Waterfowl Management Area, and Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area offer refuge to many unique birds.
  • Davis County is Utah’s smallest county in terms of land, but is the third largest in terms of population. It is one of the fastest growing counties in Utah.
  • Davis County is one of the first established territories by Mormon settlers in 1850. Utah’s oldest inhabited Ranch is located on Antelope Island in Davis County.
  • Hill Air Forces Base, located in Davis County, is Utah’s biggest employer. You can visit Hill Aerospace Museum to see over 70 historic aircraft and missiles.
  • Three of Utah’s governors were born in Davis County.
  • The Freeport Center, located in Davis County, is the nation’s largest distribution center. The center has over 14 million square feet of storage.
  • Davis County claims to have the longest growing season in Utah, giving it it’s nickname “Davis County, The Garden Spot of Utah.”
  • Since Davis County is at the base of the Wasatch front, residents are within an hour of several world-renowned ski resorts. The same mountains provide the perfect environment for various summer activities such as fishing, hiking, backpacking, boating and camping.
  • Davis County is home to several National Parks and Forests including the popular Muller Park and Park of the Wasatch National Forest. These parks and forests are visited by people from all over the country and continue to be popular among residents of Davis County.
  • Davis County is over 620 square miles, but over half of that is covered by the Great Salt Lake. That leaves only 220 square miles of useable land.
  • Davis County was mostly farmland until after World War II, when it became much more industrial. Today you can still find a few agricultural establishments, but most have been developed into residential areas.
